Dr Jimmy Lennox

MB.BS. DRCOG. MRCGP. DCCH. Qualified 1991 London Hospital

Jimmy trained in London and Edinburgh, and has been a full time GP in Bucklebury since 1998. He has been involved with commissioning over the last few years and together with Dr Barbara Barrie was joint chairperson in the early stages of development when the CCG became a pathfinder.

Jimmy is the CCG lead for planned care with responsibility locally for community nursing and West Berkshire Community Hospital. He has a particular interest in promoting and developing through commissioning ‘shared decision making’.

Dr Clare Barnett

MBBS 1998, BSc, MRCPCH 2001, MRCGP 2005, DFSRH 2012

Dr Barnett graduated from the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in 1998, during her studies she undertook an elective in Kwa-Zulu Natal in South Africa which involved working in a small rural hospital deep in the South African bush. During this time she gained experience in all aspects of general medicine, surgery and paediatrics in an isolated location.

Whilst at medical school she also gained an intercollegiate BSc in molecular science. Dr Barnett trained initially in paediatrics at Kings College London and gained membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2001.  She then decided to pursue a career in general practice and undertook her training in Worthing, West Sussex, completing this in 2006. Clare joined the practice in June 2015.

She continues to have a special interest in paediatrics and also has an interest in women’s health. She lives locally with her husband and 2 sons, her outside interests include bike riding and travelling.

Dr Taylor Wylie

MBCHB MRCGP DRCOG

3Dr Wylie is originally from Dundee, Scotland and graduated from the University of Dundee School of Medicine in 2011. She completed her foundation training at the Great Western Hospital, Swindon gaining experience in general medicine, general surgery and paediatrics.

Dr Wylie was accepted on to the Reading and Newbury GP vocational training scheme completing her general practice training in 2016. Dr Wylie joined the Bucklebury Practice as a salaried GP in September 2016.

Dr Claire Hardwick

MB ChB BSc Physiology, DCH, DRCOG, DFSRH

Qualified as a doctor in 1989. Completed general practice training in 1996. Has been working at Chapel Row Surgery for over 10 years.

Has experience with women’s health and is one of the GPs in the practice who fits coils/IUDs and contraceptive implants.

Outside the surgery she has an interest in outdoor pursuits including canoeing, kayaking, “munro bagging”, mountain biking and skiing.

Dr Jo Almond

MBBS, DRCOG, DFFP, MRCGP

Dr Jo Almond qualified in 1992 from The London Hospital Medical College. After several hospital jobs including ENT, general medicine, ophthalmology, obstetrics and gynaecology and one year in psychiatry she qualified as a GP in 1998.

Dr Almond worked as a freelance GP and salaried GP in South Wales at the same time as enjoying choir singing in the land of the song and sailing in Cardiff Bay.

She then worked as a GP in Bracknell for eight years and during this time gained certificate in diabetes in 2014 and MRCGP in 2016.

She has worked in Chapel Row Surgery since August 2015.

Dr Niti Sodhi

DRCOG 2005, MRCGP 2004, DFFP 2002, MBBS 1996

Niti is an experienced GP, having worked previously as a partner in a local surgery for nearly 20 years.

She has an interest in all aspects of general medicine including children’s health care, women’s health, menopause, chronic disease management, and is particularly interested in mental health and health coaching as she believes self empowerment is key to positive physical and mental health.

She is also an experienced medical educator, having taught medical students and GP trainees on and off throughout her career. 

Having medically trained from India, and subsequent further training in general practice in various parts of the UK, this has helped her gain insight into and manage various population groups. Outside of general practice, she has been involved with a local mental health charity for children and young adults as a trustee clinical advisor.

She spends her spare time enjoying painting, photography and walking her dog. She lives with her partner and teenage daughter, 5 minutes from the surgery.
