Patient participation group

The aims of the patient participation group

  • To offer opinions in a constructive manner and to put forward ideas on behalf of other patients.
  • To improve the provision of health care.
  • To improve communication between surgery, patients and the wider community about matters concerning the surgery and health in general.
  • To provide assistance in development of new services.
  • To encourage a spirit of self help and support amongst patients to improve their health and social care.

The practice has had a Patient Participation Group for a number of years. The aim is to encourage and enhance a positive relationship between patients and the surgery staff both medical and administrative.

The PPG are there to have a voice for the patients in the practice and to carry out research and identify what matters to patients and discuss the findings.

Meetings are held at the surgery, timings and minutes are displayed on the surgery notice board.

We would be delighted to welcome anyone to the group’s meetings, even if you are not able to attend regularly. The group is influential in helping to shape the type of medical services which are available from surgeries in the Newbury and Community Primary Care Trust area.

Join our Patient Participation Group

All registered patients are able to join our Patient Participation Group. People of all genders, ages, ethnicities, and those with health conditions and disabilities are encouraged to join.

Members should as far as possible, be representative of the surgery population.

To join:

The PPG is run by a small committee of patients and practice staff and is essentially whatever the patients would like it to be.
